Aim

The benefits of being read to are too numerous to mention; amongst them - children learn about the world, they learn about people and places, their imagination is inspired, their thoughts deepen and they explore a billion emotions. They themselves learn to read and write and then the whole world opens to them. Each year, at this time the team at MumKIND will seek input from far and wide to change the lives of children who may not have ever experienced a book. So…. If you have books at home that are now redundant to your family, or if you’re able to donate any number of books for boys and girls, who mightn’t otherwise possess them, please join us.

It’s our aim to collect 500 books to distribute this Christmas to children aged from new born, toddler and beyond. And also, we'd like to provide beautiful books for the Mummas - be it a non-fiction novel a biography of a brilliant woman or mindfulness colouring books.

We will designate a number of collection spots around South Australia but please PM us any time if you’d like to be involved between now and Christmas - and please help us by spreading the word far and wide.

Outcome

Thanks to the generosity from across the state, we received 1,262 books which have been collated, packaged and distributed to new homes ahead of Christmas. THANK YOU for all those who supported this campaign - you've made a really positive difference in a child's life this year.
